Soulful vocals, thought-provoking storytelling, all in a catchy pop song. That’s Mel Fine in a nutshell. The neon-orange dawning, non-binary songwriter and producer uses music to speak out about their experiences as a queer, neurodivergent, gen-z-er. A champion of "sad songs in colorful font," Mel's bubbly, lovable personality and ear-worm tunes provide listeners a safe space to process trauma, loss, and change.
For consideration for the 64th Grammy Awards, Mel’s presence continues to grow. Mel has played over 100 stages, including the Red Room, American Idol, and many more. With placements on "General Hospital," the 24 year old powerhouse continues to expand their catalog with new releases bimonthly. In 2023, Mel launched their own concert series, "Mel Fine's Rainbow Room," highlighting queer songwriters in an intimate, in-the-round format (LA shows coming soon). Mel’s songs have been recognized in the songwriting community, granting them a win in Berklee College of Music’s Songs for Social Change Contest, the Performance Division Voice Award, a Songwriting Scholarship Award, and the MP&E Creativity Scholar Award, and a New England Music Awards nomination. This year, Mel was selected to participate in the Keychange U.S. Talent Development Program, an intensive program uplifting women/gender expansive artists.
In addition to their own artistry, Mel has a dual degree in Music Production & Engineering and Songwriting from Berklee College of Music, which they use to write, produce, and engineer for other artists. A multifaceted creator, Mel designs logos, album art, and promotional content for artists. Everything you see on Mel's profiles—there's a good chance they made it.

“Call You Home” is an honestly vulnerable story of loss, detailing the little ways we’re reminded of those who are no longer in our lives. Perfect for a long drive in the rain, a cozy afternoon, or a cathartic cry sesh.
Mel's synth driven, bittersweet, pop bop, “Like He Gets to Love Her,” is a must-listen, scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs single. With its electrifying hook, honest storytelling, and stick-in-your-head chorus, this track beautifully explores the queer experience in modern society.
"Right Here," released in June 2022, captures the moments before long distance. Written with Mel's partner, Grahm, and featuring Lillian, this song will remind you to hold your loved ones close while you still can.
Mel wrote "Alone Together," a quarantine-crush bop, at the start of the pandemic to encapsulate the feelings of jealousy and FOMO across state borders. With its infectious melody (no pun intended) and relatable lyrics, this track brings a new meaning to being "Alone Together."
"In Between." details Mel's journey growing up outside the gender binary and coming to terms with their identity. Mel hopes that sharing their story will show others that it's okay to be different—"be your own design."
